#92. Foxtrot Anchors

Information from Applicant

The FHRC has received the following information from the applicant:

Proposed New Anchor, Above Foxtrot and Crazy Fingers

At present climbers completing (or aiding!) these difficult pitches must climb up and left 20' to get to the anchors above Parallels in order to get off the routes. This creates a problem for the second, since there are no adequate directional placements on this exit climbing, and some rope drag occurs getting to the anchor. There is a small stance directly above Foxtrot and Crazy Fingers that would provide a perfect place from which to clip a 2-bolt anchor, and belay from (or lower off).

Information from FHRC

The FHRC is required to offer information about the following factors of the proposed anchor.

- Replacing slings on trees. The proposed anchor will not replace a tree anchor.

- The proposed anchor will be above the pitches in question.

- The new anchor will be about 70 feet from the ground.

We wouldn't want too much adventure. I've never skipped a well placed anchor when available. Go for it.

Good idea. Please use camo hangers.

A good idea. I often wondered about this one. Agree on camoflauged hangers. Also, ones that are replaceable or don't wear out.

In general I'm in favor of it, but ask Skip.

It is not true that there are no good directional placements for toproping (or belaying) Foxtrot from the Parallels anchors. There are perfectly fine directionals. Nevertheless, I support this anchor because it is also an improvement for Crazy Fingers and potential new routes.

This would improve the safety of TRs in this area, and bring more people to try these high quality lines.

This would be okay, but you should ask Skip G.first(he is back in town)Also I don't think Skip placed the existing anchor bolts(I could be wrong)

If this location is optimal for all the routes in the vicinity, shared anchors seem like a reasonable idea.
